In the soft light of late February, West Horsley Place emerges from winter's grip like a memory surfacing through fog. This Grade I listed Tudor manor, with its distinctive burnt-orange brickwork and towering chimneys, has stood sentinel over Surrey's countryside for centuries—but it's the carpet of snowdrops in the foreground that tells the real story. As someone living with ADHD, I'm drawn to these moments of transition—the pause between seasons, where everything feels suspended and possible. The snowdrops arrive unbidden, a quiet insistence that spring is coming whether we're ready or not. I worked wet-on-wet for the misty background, letting the golden morning light bleed into cool grey-blues, mirroring how ADHD thoughts blur and shift before settling into clarity. This painting is part of my therapeutic mission: creating sanctuaries for minds that race. West Horsley Place represents stability, history, permanence—all things that can feel elusive when your thoughts scatter like leaves. The snowdrops ground the composition, offering something gentle to focus on, a white noise for the eyes. Original watercolour £390. A3 prints £34.99, A4 prints £24.99.
