About This Painting

The Hope is a pub I walk past almost daily in Carshalton. On this particular autumn evening, the golden light caught the old building in a way that felt like a warm hug. I wanted to capture that feeling of coming home—the familiar comfort of a place you know by heart. Painted slowly over six days, letting each layer of watercolor dry completely before adding the next.

Materials: Transparent watercolour on 300gsm Arches cold-press paper
